I’ve finally got a new car. After the frame cracked on the Dart, we realized that we’d need something a little more reliable than a 35 year old car. I love the old girl, but there’s no way we can handle the repair costs on that.
Speaking of repairs though, the 1 day old Jetta has it’s first broken part. The starter is pretty much shot, and that’ll be a $450 job to get replaced. Bah.
Ah well, that’s what you get with a $3000 car. And I *like* the car dammit. The last VW I had lasted for freaking ages. We drove that thing into the ground and it still came up for more. Hopefully this one will be similar.
With any luck, I’ll have time to get to the wreckers next time so I can snag the parts myself though. I’d be much happier with that.
Anyone want a ‘74 Dart? I’ll be putting it up for sale soon. It’s a project or parts car at this point (there’s just no way it would pass a safety) which is something to keep in mind. hehe.
