This site pretty much describes my particular form of geekery.
Making gas powered childrens toys that can mangle you in a thousand different ways, human experiments that are almost guarenteed to cause your lungs to shrivel, and homemade conveniences that might just explode.
You know, creative solutions to creative problems.
That unexplained candle on your friends head? Craft a dry ice gun to extinguish it! Not enough money for that extra seat? Take junior as a carry-on! Chet is always tardy? How about making him a toy car that goes higway speeds? That’ll get the little tyke there on time.
A blow torch made from a vacuum? Actually, I see no real need for this – it’s just kind of cool.
There’s a beauty here. There’s this feeling that anything can be built given enough time and a steady hand with the screwdriver. And maybe a little radium.
I’m going to be thinking about this for a while longer. And then I’ll probably knock off the dirt start a project.
Maybe I’ll make an X-Ray machine or a cyclotron. Something completely impractical.
I’m definately going make some dentures for when I lose my teeth.
